ECJVC Players Represented on the Carolina Region High Performance Teams!


Emily Mannie at HP 2008 Carolina Region East Carolina JVC congratulates Emily Mannie and Kimberly Keiter for being selected to play for the Carolina Region in the 2008 High Performance Championships.

The pair traveled with other girls from around North Carolina to Tuscon, Arizona in July for the HP Championships. Emily was the setter for the Youth Blue team and Kimberly played for the Select team.  The Carolina Region Youth Blue team won the Bronze Playoff, and placed 9th of 16 teams overall in the Girl's National Youth Division. They played teams from OK, OH, NC, NY, TX and WI.

Tournament Results 


The ECJVC 16's Team took 3rd Place in the USA-Volleyball Jr. Olympics, American Division, held in Dallas Texas, July 1-4, 2008. Click Here for more information, photos, and a daily report about the trip!

6/20/08 - The EC 16's Team capped off a strong week of play, taking 2nd Place in their bracket and 16th overall at the AAU National Championships in Orlando, FL. 132 teams, age 16 & under, from all over the US and Puerto Rico played in the tournament, with ECJVC facing tough competitors including the Young Guns who placed 2nd overall, and teams from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Texas. The team's next tournament is the USA-Volleyball Jr. Olympics in Dallas, TX, July 1 - 4.

4/14/08 - The Carolina Region Championships wrapped up this past weekend, and East Carolina JVC made a great showing! The EC 12's won their championships at Lake Norman High School in Mooresville, playing in the Platinum Division. The EC 13's took third in the Platinum Division Regional Tournament in Kernersville. The 14's played strong at their Platinum Division Championships at Barber Park, while the 15-2's made a great effort in the Silver Tournament at Mooresville High School. The 15-1 team played strong in their Regional Championship at the Greensboro Sportsplex, taking 2nd place in the Platinum Division!. Last weekend, the EC 17's finished up their season playing in the Gold Division Championships in Durham, while the EC 18's played in the Platinum Division at Greensboro College.

3/28/08 - The EC 16's Team took 2nd Place at the Big South Qualifer, March 21-23 in Atlanta!  They are now qualified to play in the U.S. Junior Olympics in Dallas, TX, July 1 – 4, 2008! There are nine National Qualifier Tournaments per year and the top two teams from each of these tournaments can then play in the Junior Olympics.  The team placed 2nd out of 143 teams that entered the Big South Tournament, from California to Florida, Texas to Ohio, and everywhere in between!  The ECJVC 12's Team fought hard and played well in their games, facing tough competition from teams from around the country! Great playing experience!   

3/16/08 - ECJVC was well represented at the Shamrock Festival in Roanoke, VA this weekend! EC 16's brought home silver medals with their 2nd Place win in the top Gold Division, forcing Coastal Virginia 16's to 3 games in the championship round! EC 17's and ECU 18's played well but faced tough competition in this two-day tournament with teams from around the mid-atlantic region. In NC region news, EC 13's took 2nd place in a NC regional tournament at Barber Park this weekend. 

2/23/08 - East Carolina JVC 16's went undefeated at Triangle taking home a 1st Place win! 

2/16/08 - East Carolina JVC 12's went undefeated in pool play and went on to take 2nd in a regional tournament in Oxford, NC! ECJVC 13's battled teams at a Greensboro tournament and came through with a 2nd Place win! ECJVC 15-1's also took 2nd in their regional tournament at Triangle Volleyball Club!

 2/2/08 - East Carolina JVC 13's captured a 2nd Place win at a regional tournament at Methodist University!

1/27/08 - Congratulations to the 18's and 16's teams for winning their regional tournaments on Saturday, Jan. 26th!

1/21/08
- East Carolina JVC makes a great showing at Monument City Classic in Richmond! Congratulations to the 12's and 16's teams for their 1st place championships! The 13's, 14's, 15-1's, 17's and 18's also performed well. Click here to see the results page. 

1/15/08
- Regional tournament play continued January 12th, with the 16's, 17's, and 18's teams competing. Both the 16's and 18's teams took 2nd place in their tournaments!  See the results page for other regional scores by clicking here.

1/7/08 -  ECJVC  13's started off the season with a bang on January 5th, going undefeated and picking up their first championship. The 12's took 2nd place in their first tournament of the season, and a 3rd place finish by the 15-1's wrapped up the weekend.  See the results page for other regional scores by clicking here.

Open Gyms have concluded for the summer!  Good luck with your school volleyball seasons!  Don't forget to keep going with workouts on your own at Courtside! Open play in the gym is allowed as long as the courts aren't being used for private lessons.
